The Namibia Training Authority is the national port of call for vocational skills in Namibia and is entrusted with the effective regulation and funding of the provision of Vocational Education and Training in Namibia, it contributes to the establishment of an effective and sustainable system of skills formation aligned with the needs of the labour market and which provides the skills required for accelerated economic development.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Purpose or the position:
To provide strategic readership during the process of executing the mandate and functions of the N TA, in accordance with the Vocational Education and Training Act. Act 1 of 2008 and actively partake in the strategic priorities of the Republic of Namibia, such as Vision 2030. The National Development Plans and the Harambee Prosperity Plan. The CEO will furthermore instil a high performance culture by keeping abreast of market demands, positively engaging with all stakeholders and driving value creation to the customer.
Minimum requirements and characteristics:
- A Master’s Degree at NQF level 9 in Education / Business or Commerce
- A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience of which 5 years must De at executive level
- A demonstrated track record at executive decision making level and input to strategy within an organization of similar size, including accountability at Board level
- Must be able to confidently interpret financial statements in order to oversee the NTA’s financial performance and sustainability
- In-depth knowledge of good corporate governance and management best practices
- Proven exposure to. and/or experience in, the VET sector will be advantageous
- The successful incumbent must be a strategic innovator, and possess exceptional business accumen with superior stakeholder relation management experience
