Opportunity | Duty Description
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of FISHCOR’s strategic direction including growth in revenue, investment attraction, and sustained industries;
• Responsible for the financial position of the company and ensure that expenditure is controlled in line with operating budgets and business plan approved by the Board;
• Manage FISHCOR’s assets guided by appropriate developed and implemented management structures, processes and policies;
• Ensure that FISHCOR maintains a human resource system which encourages leadership and maximises the potential of staff, and is aligned with the mission and values of the company;
• Ensure appropriate presentation and reporting on the progress of the company on all matters relevant to the discharge of its responsibilities;
• Develop, implement and maintain an appropriate risk management framework, and ensure that the emergency management systems are professional, workable and sustainable;
• Foster harmonious industry networks and investor relations, and maintain business networks with national, regional and international stakeholders; and
• Keep abreast of economic, social trends as they relate to FISHCOR, and develop policy proposals for Board discussion and approval.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree from a recognised university in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Maritime management, Economics, Strategy or closely related field;
• 9 years’ professional experience in management position of which 5 years should be at executive/senior level;
• Excellent people management and public relations skills with a track record of innovation and ability to manage change;
• Experience in strategic planning, risk assessment, and execution of business strategies;
• In depth understanding of legislative frameworks and policies impacting core value chains and industries; and
• Experience in fisheries management will added advantage.
