CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
(5-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES FOR THE POST

⦁ Diploma or Degree in Public Management/Public Administration /Management, Accounting, and Finance, or Business Administration with 5 years of experience in a middle managerial position.
⦁ Be a Namibian citizen.
⦁ Profound knowledge of local governance
⦁ A sense of integrity
⦁ Leadership and management skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

⦁ Managing and directing the Council’s operations on good governance and accountability principles
⦁ Develop and achieve the Council’s strategic vision and goals
⦁ Developing and ensuring financial management, performance, and self-sustainability
⦁ Policy development and implementation
⦁ Supervision and Co-ordination the works for all Departments and between the council
⦁ Implementation of the Council’s Strategic Objectives and decisions
⦁ Human Resources Development and management
⦁ Financial Management
Corporate Communication and Customer Care and Accounting Officer in terms of the Local Authorities Act, 1992 (Act No. 23 of 1992) as amended.

SALARY PACKAGE/BENEFITS

Salary Notch: N$ 219 090.00
⦁ Vehicle Allowance: N$ 219 090.00
⦁ Cell phone Allowance: N$ 1 200.00 p/m
⦁ Housing Allowance:40% basic salary
⦁ Medical Aid:85% Council contribution
⦁ Pension fund:21.7% Council contribution
