CASHIER – Witvlei Village Council

The Witvlei Village Council seeks to recruit a suitably, qualified and experienced Namibian Citizen who is dynamic and has proven abilities to administer and execute his/her duties and responsibilities within the framework of the Local Authorities Act,1992 and other relevant legislation.

Minimum Requirement
Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematic/Accounting
Ability to work under pressure
Be computer literate
Have 2-3 years appropriate experience.
Knowledge of Finstel- system will be an advantage

Salary Package
Salary Notch per annum :N$ 75543 – N$78 594 per annum
Housing Allowance :20% of Basic Salary per annum (Without a Mortgage) / 40% of Basic Salary per annum (with a Mortgage)

Transport Allowance : N$ 7704 per annum
Medical Aid Allowance :85% Employer Contribution and 13thcheque
Pension scheme : 21.7% Council Contribution

Key Performance Areas:
• Receive payments of accounts from customers/clients
• Balance the cash received on daily basis
• Posting of receipt to appropriate accounts, i.e. debit cards, cashbook, ledger daily
• To write hand receipts or operate computerized till
• Prepare weekly reports to the Assistant Accountant
• Prepare daily cash-up and handing over the entire amounts received to the Assistant Accountant
• Maintain an accurate account system
• Any other administrative duty assigned to him/her
