1 x post: Cashier  Grade C1

The Council offers the following benefit for the position:

Salary Notch : N$ 140274.00 per annum

Housing Allowance : N$ 28 054.80 per annum (20% of annual salary)

Housing Subsidy : N$ 56109.60 per annum (40% of annual salary, payable only upon submission of bond registration certificate)

Pension Fund : 21.7% Council Contribution

Medical Aid : 90% Council Contribution

Main purpose of the job

To perform cashier duties within the Okahao Town Council and ensure that all money for municipal services received from customers are accounted for.

Key Performance Areas:

• Receiving and processing of payments
• Daily cash-up of funds received
• Process bank direct deposits
• Handling of clients queries

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• A National diploma (NQF L6) in Accounting and Finance or an equivalent qualification
• Two (2) year appropriate working experience in Financial Environment : Must be a Namibian Citizen

Additional Requirements

• Experience in Local Authority will be added as an advantage
• Valid driving license code: B will be added as an advantage

Competencies

Sound knowledge of Accounting System and Computer (MS Word and Excel), conflict resolution, problem solving, customer oriented, analytical skills, communication skills, time management
