Business Development Sales Executive (Sponsorships & Delegate Sales for Events) – Johannesburg / with Travel

Our client is seeking an experienced Sponsorship Sales Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing sponsorships for our flagship event. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and experience in event planning or management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the energy and mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and research potential sponsors based on industry, location, and past sponsorship history.
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing sponsors, exhibitors and delegates
• Create sponsorship packages that meet the needs and goals of sponsors, while also aligning with the organization’s mission and values.
• Negotiate sponsorship contracts and ensure all parties are meeting contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure sponsor benefits are delivered as promised.
• Maintain accurate records of sponsor information and activities in the CRM system.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to sponsorship sales.
• Follow through on the deliverables
• Ensure timely follow-up with customers

 

Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the energy and/or mining sectors
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience in event planning or management is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CRM systems (Hubspot)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary : Basic between 30k – 35k p/m plus commission
