The Omaruru Municipality is established in terms of the Local Authority Act (Act 23 of 1992) as amended. Which mandates Omaruru Municipality with the provision and maintenance of municipal services and the facilitation of economic development and is hereby inviting suitably qualified, dedicated, and committed candidates to apply in order to fulfil this constitutional mandate.
Job grade: C3 Department: Planning &Technical Services Section: Technical Services
Basic Salary : NS211,196.00 / annum plus other benefits.
The incumbent will report to the Manager: Planning & Technical Services.
Primary Purpose of the Position
To control building activities and premises in general in the area of jurisdiction contemplated in subparagraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Proclamation 122 of 1993. to scrutinise all building plans submitted in their respective jurisdictions, and to check if the detailed plans submitted comply with the regulations and subregulations applicable to that specific erf. To ensure that all erf beacons are maintained as specified by the Standard Building Regulations.
Qualifications. Experience & Skills required
⦁ Trade Diploma in Civil Engineering Principles or equivalent OR Trade Certificate in Bricklaying or Carpentry plus N4 Certificate of Equivalent.
⦁ 2 years’ experience with in-depth exposure to building regulations, preferably in a municipal environment.
⦁ Safety Certificate.
⦁ Sound knowledge of building plans and building regulations
⦁ Basic knowledge of engineering principles related to the construction of buildings
⦁ Computer Literacy.
⦁ Excellent report-writing skills.
⦁ Highly ethical.
⦁ Sound customer orientation.
⦁ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Driving Licence Code B.
