PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Brand managers oversee all activities related to how the brand is exposed to and perceived by the audience. Brand managers must ensure that products and services resonate with the target audience. They need to have a strong grasp on current market trends, rely heavily on market research to ensure product-market fit & the goal of a brand manager is to turn a product into a household name. Brand managers act as the gatekeeper for the brand & are responsible for strategizing on how to increase brand awareness, among other responsibilities.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide relevant information to Junior Brand Manager to assist with managing the brands.
- Manage Junior Brand Manager KPI’s and performance and manage Advertising agency KPI’s.
- Develop, present and implement brand strategy and plans on an ongoing basis.
- Monitoring and tracking of brands market share and performance and identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop, produce and implement advertising & promotions material.
- Develop media strategies and executions to support your brand.
- Ensure logo & trademarks are used as per brand guidelines.
- Monitor that all marketing activities are in line with overall brand strategy.
- Conduct bi-annual usage and attitude research on your brands and utilise information in the strategy.
- Manage packaging design and do on-press approvals with supplier for your brands.
- Implement and manage all brands in store sampling, promotions and activations.
- Manage product development with production team.
- Analyze category and competitor trends with Market Analyst.
- Manage social media strategy monthly and report on performance.
- Manage the brands PR, CSR and communications strategy with agency.
- Responsible for Brand performance in export market.
- Manage all administration for your brands with Junior Brand Manager.
- Compile a Brief to be sent out to the team within the allocated/ approve brand budget.
- Managing events, booking venues and ordering marketing materials.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma and/or Degree in Marketing Management (NQF 5/6) with at least five (5) years relevant working experience OR
- Relevant Qualification with at least five (5) years’ experience in brand execution, promotions and related administration
- Namibian citizen.
- Valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Excellent mastering of the Microsoft suite.
- Able to communicate well in written and spoken English and other Namibian languages.
