Branch Financial Administrator – NSI – Windhoek

The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) was established in terms of the Standards Act, 2005 (Act No. 18 of 2005). The primary role of the NSI is to promote Standardisation and Quality Assurance in industry, commerce and the public sector in Namibia, with the aim of improving product quality, industrial efficiency and productivity, and to promote trade, so as to achieve optimum benefits for Namibia.

Branch Financial Administrator

Job Grading: Paterson B3

Primary purpose of position:

To process and record financial transactions of debtors and to ensure that correct invoices are generated and that payments are correctly allocated.

To monitor the debtor’s age by checking bank statements for payments made. To follow up on customers whose payments are outstanding.

Educational requirement:

• Grade 12
• A one (1) year certificate in Accounting or Finance

Experience requirement:

• Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in a financial or accounting field.
• Drivers licence Code B, minimum two (2) years driving experience.

Skills & knowledge requirement:

• Accounting knowledge and terminology
• Computer literacy: Excel
• Pastel: (on the job training.
• Numeric ability
• Information processing
• Dealing with difficult customers
• Good interpersonal Communication

• Invoicing
• Obtaining and Recording Payments
• Customer Statement generations
• Debtor scrutiny and age analysis.
• Debt Collection
• Allocation of payments
• Stock taking and assets
• Petty Cash
• Compliance to administrative requirements of the data management system.
• Quotations
