We are seeking for a matured and dedicated Boat Driver (Grade B2) to safely operate and navigates the boat to transport the guests, supplies, or staff across local waterways. The role will be responsible for route planning, boat maintenance, and delivering exceptional guest service within the local area. The person will be reporting to the Resort Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducting daily boat inspections for service issues;
- Ensure that the water, oil, brakes and overall function of the boat has been checked accordingly;
- Determine the need for boat service by inspecting the kilometres as the due date for its next service;
- Report accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions and damage to boat and related equipment to supervisor/manager;
- Transports guests between the resort and local areas in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner using safe driving;
- Practice preventative safety procedures as set forth by NWR policies, rules and regulations;
- Provide guest with the necessary information regarding their route; temperature; wildlife; plants and landscape;
- Drives on the predetermined route and ensures that all aspects of safety are adhered to by driving the appropriate speed limit, and ensuring that clients do not hang out on the boat.
- Records of all trips by entering the number of guests; refreshments consumed; fuel consumption; the route driven/sports visited.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus valid Boat Driver’s License and Public Driver’s Permit; or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
- At least have two (2) years of work experience in operating a boat/ferry;
- Current First Aid and Basic Water Safety Certificates;
- Ability to make minor and emergency repairs to boat and equipment will serve as advantage.
- Knowledge of the history and geology of the lodge/resort/camp;
- Good driving skills and proficiency in operating a ferry/boat;
- Knowledge of tide movements and weather;
- Ability to interpret maps or navigation devices;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
