Established by the National Youth Service Act No 6 of 2005, the NYS serves to recruit youths to benefit from the NYS’ programs and activities; to provide skills training and personal development  programs and activities for the recruits; and immaculate youth volunteerism end civic responsibilities among recruits.

The Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service is offering an exciting opportunity to individuals who wish to make a mark through serving on the Board of the National Youth Service.

General requirements:

Applicants must have Board experience and understanding of management, governance issues and challenges, gamed at an Executive level, within the Public sector and/or Private sector and should furthermore, be familiar with Boards’ best practices and principles.

Experience:

We welcome applications from suitable candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds: Agriculture, Business, law, Human Resources, Marketing, Youth, Finance or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

-Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and successful candidates will be recommended for possible appointment for a period of three (3) years. Persons who currently serve on TWO (2) or more BOARDS of any Public Enterprise in Namibia will not be considered for appointment.
