THE POSITION: ASSISTANT OPERATOR: SLAGMILL X 2
The incumbent will report to the Shift Foreman: Slag Handling & Processing and will be accountable for:

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Legal, Safety, Health and Environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety culture in the area of responsibility.

· Ensuring efficiency and recovery targets are consistently achieved on shifts.

· Ensuring process performance is continually optimized within the given parameters and constraints on shifts.

· Managing and operating equipment and resources safely, to eliminate the potential for incidents.

· Ensuring short term production, availability, utilization and equipment throughput targets are met consistently in the following areas: Comminution, Classifications, Floatation and Thickening.

· Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum 23 points.

· Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and basic mechanical skills.

· Basic grinding and floatation process experience (will be an added advantage).

· Good physical fitness, as the environment is subject to high temperatures, repetitive climbing of stairs and structural vibrations and shakes.
