THE POSITION: ASSISTANT OPERATOR: CASTING X 6

The incumbent will report to the Shift Foreman: Converters and Aisle and will be accountable for:

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Legal, Safety, Health and Environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety culture in the area of responsibility.

· Providing general assistance to Operators at the Converters and Aisle area.

· Charge floor, Skim bay, crane and casting area activities as required.

· General housekeeping, sorting copper scraps from reverts and bricks from secondary material.

· Ensuring compliance of all company policies and rules.

· Leading by example through compliance with the company values, mission and vision.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum 23 points in six subjects, a (D) symbol in English, Mathematics and Physical Science, or equivalent.

· Relevant 6-month work experience in industrial or related field.

· Good physical fitness, as the area may be subjected to high temperatures.

· Ability to walk, bend, push and lift repetitively during working hours.

· Knowledge of workplace safety, communications skills and the ability to work in a team.
