The mine seeks the services of a well experienced and qualified Assistant Communication Officer with a strong internal communication skills background. The position reports to the Public Relations and Communication Officer.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Communictions or Public Relations

Three years experience in Communications or Public Relations.

Experience in coordination of events, community development highly recommended.

Proven experience in digital/social media management; media buying, web content and advertising management will be a distinct advantage.

Proven experience in written, verbal and communication skills (speechwritting, news releases and features writing marketing copy writing, newsletter compilation, presentations etc).

Valid Drivers Licence

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the coordination of internal company communication activities in accordance with Navachab Gold Mine’s policies and procedures.

To actively contribute to ensuring an effective internal communication system.

Compile articles and photos for internal publications.

Gather all information and captures into standard format to produce internal weekly newspapers/newsletter.

Maintain information on Notice Boards and Plasma Screens.

Ensure pictures are taken at all company events and maintain a database of company photos.

To ensure smooth running of company events.

Checks and provides all necessary communication around events.

Actively participate in Public Relations type projects (e.g. MD’s roadshow, Annual Mining Expo, etc.)

Receives applications for visitors and obtains relevant approval.
