POSITION: ADMINISTRATOR: SERVER AND NETWORK
DEPARTMENT: ICT
LOCATION: PORT OF WALVIS BAY
JOB GRADE: 08

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To administer, operate, and maintain the enterprise ICT server and network infrastructure, ensuring performance and functionality are aligned with the Namport’s business strategies and objectives. This includes proactively monitoring systems, implementing improvements, and ensuring high availability, security, and scalability to support evolving business needs. This position reports directly to the Specialist: ICT Infrastructure and Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

* A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science or equivalent.
* An Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science or equivalent is an added advantage.
* A minimum of five (5) years of relevant technical experience in ICT operations, with expertise in managing Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
* Certifications in Cloud Technologies, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Virtualization, Networking (CompTIA N+, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE), as well as expertise in Server Products and Project Management, are highly desirable.
* In-depth understanding of ICT governance frameworks, SOPs, and compliance standards.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic ICT environment.
