Embassy of Japan in Namibia is seeking a highly motivated, suitably qualified

Administrative Assistant

Main duties:

• Labour management (Calculation of overtime, social security and insurance fee, etc.)
• Property and Building Management
• Human Resource Management (including various assistance for diplomats)
• Finance operation
• Contract management (insurance, legal, cleaning, building lease, gardening maintenance, etc.)
• Working environment management (postal items, water server, expendable supplies, newspapers, etc.)
• Procurement management
• Event Management Support (catering, tents, tables, flowers, and beverage)
• Research (cost of living, real estate trends, wages, disaster information)
• Negotiation, English/ Afrikaans/ Local language translation, and finding new suppliers as needed
• Other administrative duties within the Embassy, including assistance at its events and official visits.

Qualificationsand requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 or Bachelor’s degree
• At least 3 years of experience in administrative works
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Communication skills and network building, including across cultures
• Understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language (spoken and written) will be strong assets
• This is a full time position and salaries will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
