ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCE ASSISTANT – Young Africa Namibia

Young Africa (YA) Namibia, a young and growing Namibian (NGO), aims to empower young people through practical training in market-oriented trades in combination with life skills and entrepreneurship. We do so in close cooperation with local entreprenuers who franchise our training departments from which they run their business while training students on the job. Our head office and main center is based in Otjiwarongo where we offer skills training in various trades in combination with life skills and entrepreneurship training.

To strengthen our team at our head office in Otjiwarongo and our satellite in Ondangwa we are currently looking for friendly, honest, hardworking and responsible candidates who are dedicated to  the integral development of under priviledged young people. We offer the following positions.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCE ASSISTANT (ONDANGWA)

• Secretarial work: handling student data, handling school fees, handling use of YA property and venues, collect rent and other payments from Heads of Departments, filing documents, organize events, minute staff meetings
• Bookkeeping: carry out basic bookkeeping work, accounting, handle petty cash, check items bought with receipts
• Life Skills education: train Life Skills to all students at YASC
• Experience in bookkeeping is key
• Any other task as directed by supervisor

Minimum requirements for all positions:

• Relevant qualifications
• At least three years relevant work experience for the finance officer
• Experience in working with NGO’s will be an added advantage
• A police certificate of good standing (adhering to our finance and youth safeguarding policy)
