Our client is seeking the services of a suitable Accountant

Windhoek

Key Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Professional qualifications in the related fields will be advantageous).
– Minimum of 2–3 years’ proven experience in accounting, auditing, or financial management.
– Strong knowledge of Namibian tax laws, NAMRA, and statutory reporting requirements.
– Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Paste), QuickBooks, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
– Demonstrated experience in preparing management accounts, financial reporting, and compliance submissions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

– Manage the full accounting function, including general ledger, journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
– Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports in line with IFRS and Namibian statutory requirements.
– Handle all statutory compliance including VAT, PAYE, NamRA tax returns, and other regulatory filings.
– Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
– Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
– Support internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and financial institutions.
– Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks.
– Provide financial insights and analysis to management for improved business decision-making.
– Monitor and manage fixed assets, including asset register maintenance, depreciation schedules, and disposals in line with company policy.
– Support the development and implementation of financial systems, process improvements, and digital transformation initiatives.
– Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management and external stakeholders as required.
– Assist in many functions, including monitoring bank accounts, managing investment activities, and maintaining optimal liquidity levels.
