Minimum Requirements and competencies for the post:

Applicant must be a Namibian citizen
Bachelor in accounting or National Diploma in accounting or equivalent at NQA level 6 or higher
3 years’ experience in accounting and finance
Experience and knowledge of VAT claims
Computer literate
Knowledge of FINSTEL financial system. MS excel / Word and other MS office programmes will serve as a strong recommendation. A driving license code B will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas:

Strategic planning of the development of the finance department
Administration of all financial matters contained in Part xvii of the Local Authority Act (Act 23 of 1992), as amended
Prepare and compile statements of estimated income and expenditure of the Council
Determine rates, charges, fees and other money levied under provision of the mentioned Act 23 of 1992 as amended
Prepare and compile financial statements for auditing purposes
Responsible for investment promotion and economic development of the Council
