ACCOUNTANT (C4) – Gibeon Village Council

DUTY STATION: GIBEON VILLAGE COUNCIL
SALARY SCALE: 141 315 – 147 152

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES FOR THE POST:
⦁ Bachelor in Accounting or National Diploma in Accounting (NQA level 6) or higher.
⦁ 3 years relevant work experience in Local Authority
⦁ Computer literate; sound basic numerical skills, accuracy, interpersonal relations and ability to work without supervision.
⦁ Knowledge of FINSTEL financial system, will serve as a strong recommendation.
⦁ Applicant should be a Namibian citizen
⦁ Added advantage: A driving licence Code B

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS
⦁ Provides input regarding the daily financial management of the organisation as requested.
⦁ Review the debtors’s age analysis monthly and ensures that appropriate action is taken for the collection of outstanding debt.
⦁ Provides input into the identification of the revenue base of the organisation and cost-saving measures and expected savings.
⦁ Addresses queries raised by the external auditors during the annual audit and also those resulting from the audit report.
⦁ Keeps up-to-date with technological development in the financial field and reads relevant publications.
⦁ Compiles the draft annual budget for the Village Council.
⦁ Complete VAT returns and forwards these to NAMRA.
⦁ Prepare and compile statements of estimated income and expenditure of the Council.
⦁ Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations.
⦁ Any other assigned duties by supervisor.
