Erongo Marine Enterprises (PTY) LTD (“EME”) is a proudly Namibian registered fishing company, based in Walvis Bay and operates in the Horse Mackerel fishery. EME has an exemplary record in respect of its fishing operations as well as its focus on socio-economic investment and development, both regionally and nationally. We are looking to fill the following vacancy:
2nd Engineer
Purpose of the role: To substitutes the Chief Engineer when necessary. In-charge of all the operational engineers and the crew of the engine room and plans the overall maintenance of all the machinery present in the engine room of the vessel.
Minimum role requirements & experience
- • STW95 F Class 2/3 Marine Engineer certificate Unlimited in Marine Engineering CoC, i.e. Electro-Technical Officer Red seal
- • Thorough knowledge of three phase power generation and distribution
- • Thorough knowledge of engine safety control systems, Alarms, on Soviet-built Meridien factory freezer trawlers.
- • Vessel repair experience
- • Ensure safe working condition of electrical equipment
- • Ensure reliable condition, operation, and maintenance of all electrical equipment
- • Responsible of automation equipment (mechanisms, devices, systems, equipment)
- • Strong leadership
- • Good communication skills
- • Keep electrical documentation on record
