The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare is a national government ministry of the Republic of Namibia, headquartered in Windhoek. It is mandated by Namibian law to formulate policies, coordinate programmes, and monitor progress on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and child protection across all regions of Namibia. The ministry implements initiatives such as the National Gender Policy and the National Plan of Action for Children, working closely with regional councils, civil society, and international partners within Namibia. Its operations include gender-based violence response units, child rights advocacy, and mainstreaming gender perspectives into national development planning in Namibia.
