Corporate Development Manager

THE ROLE OF THE POSITION
The role of Corporate Development Manager is a dynamic position that will allow the incumbent to play a role in identifying, investigating and drawing up business cases for a variety of new projects to assist the group in its growth and diversification, and exploit its asset base wisely to maximise returns. Success will be underpinned by a strong financial case rooted in practical reality, but will be enhanced by unlocking value for the Namibian economy more broadly. The growth of the Company’s brand and adherence to the brand promise of Customer Satisfaction Through Service Excellence will remain crucial to any new ventures.
The role will predominantly be driven by project work but will grow to allow for ongoing regular involvement in the areas of strategy and operational performance management to the extent that new ventures are integrated and overseen by the Corporate Development function.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Identify new business opportunities that comply with the groups strategic framework in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow, both for existing businesses as well as for new opportunities.
Cultivate strategic partnerships.
Perform investigate research to understand potential opportunities, their optimal structuring both operationally and financially, and building financial models to assess their value.
Draft business cases for presentation to the Exco and the Board.
Be instrumental as part of the team to develop the strategic framework for the group.
Assist in the vetting of strategic plans.
Conduct detailed competitive, market, trend, economic and financial analysis and report on the strategic implications.
Analyse the portfolio of businesses, propose new acquisition and/or partnership opportunities.
Identify macro, consumer and technology trends that are likely to impact growth/returns for the business.
Monitor competitor movements and suggest strategic actions.
