• Grade 12 with Maths & Science. Supervisor Certificate would be an advantage
• Knowledge of the different laws (Labour. Safety)
• 3 years minimum experience in commodity surveying, specific to metals and minerals

Key Responsibility
• Theorganizationandprocessofthedailyworkloadtomeet the agreed work schedules and
• Ensuring the supervisors effectively manage their teams, such that sampling work is processed at warehouses and/or any other locations as efficiently as possible to meet the turnaround agreed with clients
• Liaising with the administration and laboratory departments to prioritize work specific to customers’ expectations
• In charge of the day-to-day operations and sample preparation in Walvis Bay and Luderitz
• Maintaining the most cost-effective utilization of resources within Namibia operations to ensure reporting schedules are maintained
• Liaise with the Country Manager to ensure that the following contingencies are met: staff shortages as a result of leavers, illness, holidays, equipment malfunction/breakdown. peaking or growth of work volume within operations, re-prioritizing significant amounts of sampling work
• Ensuring that the workforce is sufficiently motivated, skilled, and properly trained to meet the operational needs of the business. It is the post holder’s responsibility to inform the Country Manager of continual resourcing difficulties and/or operational problems
• Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to sampling/surveying and sample prep by incorporating and promoting good sampling practice principles. And for ensuring that work throughput is followed in accordance to documented methods and procedures. It is the post holder’s responsibility to inform the Country manager of any failure in compliance to documented methods
• Providing technical advice and support to the operational and sample prep staff as required, on technical or operational problems, acting in a “trouble shoot” capacity to subordinates
• Advising the Country Manager of repetitive technical problems relating to day-to-day sampling procedures and sample prep
• Communicate and report any staff issues to the Country Manager which may include punctuality, attendance, and training issues
• Maintaining record keeping, such that work is clearly and easily auditable, and traceable within the guidelines of AHK
• Supporting the Country Manager in organizing and participating in client visits and general client-related technical discussion
• Participating in disciplinary and grievance meetings in line with Company procedure and in consultation with the HR Department
• Monitoring staff attendance and punctuality in consultation with the HR Department
• Ensuring that the equipment and asset registers as kept up to date
• Ensuring that efficiency tests/scale tests/oven tests are conducted by the sample prep team and that registers are kept up to date
• Ensuring that all sample reception and sample removal registers are maintained and updated
• Conduct training with all operational and sample prep staff members
• Carry out regularly planned task observations
• Hold daily operational discussions with the Country Manager and regular meetings with operational staff to ensure operational and personnel issues are discussed and rectified as soon as possible, and to keep the Branch Manager informed of serious and/or developing personnel issues
• Ensuring that tally sheets are complete and handed in timely to the Administration team
• Ensuring that operational photos are uploaded to the server on a daily basis and to the correct job folder
• Checking and signing off on Sampling plans and ensuring that the same plan is discussed with the operational team prior to the commencement of each appointment
• Daily meetings with the Administration team to discuss issues experienced by team as a result of operational challenges
• Provide feedback to the Administration team within 24 hours of any issues raised on corrective action to be put in place to limit or and eliminate these challenges
• Capturing timesheets on a weekly basis
• Ensuring that all job updates are sent out by no later than 10 a.m. daily
• Ensuring that disciplinary steps are taken against operational staff members for any transgression asset in the Company’s Disciplinary Rules and Procedures
• Maintaining a good relationship with all warehouse managers/senior staff to allow for effective communication
• Manage the job planning and staff allocation for all appointments taking place daily
• Liaise with the Country Manager to ensure that equipment is maintained in a working and calibrated state organizing maintenance where necessary
• Maintaining consumable stock holdings for operations and sample prep to support effective work and on-time delivery
• Ensuring site work areas and office areas are kept clean and tidy, with unwanted materials and debris being removed
• Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Country Manager
• Ensuringthecompany’sHealthandSafetypolicyisappliedeffectively in areas under the post holder’s control
• Other ad hoc duties as may be requested by the Country Manager. Operations Manager and General Manager from time to time
