CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (5-YEAR CONTRACT)
The Namibia Training Authority is the national port of call for vocational skills in Namibia and is entrusted with the effective regulation and funding of the provision of Vocational Education and Training in Namibia. It contributes to the establishment of an effective and sustainable system of skills formation aligned with the needs of the labour market and provides the skills required for accelerated economic development.

Purpose of the position:
To provide strategic leadership during the process of executing the mandate and functions of the Namibia Training Authority, in accordance with the Vocational Education and Training Act, Act 1 of 2008, and other relevant legislation as well as in accordance with strategic priorities of the Republic of Namibia such as Vision 2030, the National Development Plans and the Harambee Prosperity Plan.
Minimum requirements and characteristics:
⦁ Relevant Master’s degree at NQF Level 9 in Education, Business, Commerce, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
⦁ 10 years experience in a leadership role, running a large division or a company, on the Executive / Senior Management level, including experience of forming part of the Executive Committee.
⦁ Successful track record of strategic planning, organisational transformation, and execution, including accountability at the Board level.
⦁ Must be able to confidently interpret financial statements to oversee the NTA’s financial performance and sustainability.
RECRUITMENT SPECIAI ISTS
⦁ Sound experience in formulating policy as well as developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
⦁ In-depth knowledge of good corporate governance and management best practice
⦁ Exposure to, and/or experience in, the VET sector will be advantageous.
⦁ The successful incumbent must be a strategic innovator and possess exceptional business acumen with superior stakeholder relation management experience.
