KEY PURPOSE:
The position is part of Telecom Namibia’s Executive Committee of Management (EXCO) and is responsible for the development and implementation of Telecom Namibia’s Human Capital management strategy required to build human capacity that will enable Telecom Namibia to achieve its strategic objectives and deliverables.
Key Result Areas WILL INTER ALIA INCLUDE:
- Provide strategic and discipline expert contributions into the formulation of Telecom Namibia’s business strategy
- Formulate and implement a human resources strategy aligned to Telecom Namibia’s overall business strategy
- Develop and implement an effective talent management programme encompassing talent attraction, talent development and talent retention in order to ensure that Telecom Namibia remains a leading employer
- Ensure implementation, auditing and continuous improvement of performance management system
- Design and implement innovative remuneration systems and competitive incentive schemes required to drive performance
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and implement organisational development interventions required to enhance employee engagement and improve organisational performance
- Develop and implement a comprehensive employee wellness programme for Telecom Namibia including management of the occupational health and safety function
- Build and ensure sound relations and engagement with organised labour and all relevant stakeholders
KEY qualifications and experience REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate should hold as a minimum a Bachelors qualification in Human Resources Management complimented by a post-graduate qualification i.e. Masters in Business Administration. The candidate should have at least 10 years’ experience at senior management level in human resources management within a corporate environment. The position requires an innovative generalist to achieve productivity improvements at all levels and to align HR initiatives with the requirements of the business strategy. Extensive knowledge and deep insights of the HR field and its sub-disciplines as well as the Namibian labour law is a must.
KEY KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Good ability to identify key strategic initiatives and drive to closure, skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, conceptual and business analytical skills, strong ability to develop people performance, strong ability to generate, analyse and interpret HR data, excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and strong ability to motivate teams and simultaneously direct several projects
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
The position requires an innovative human resources generalist with a proven track record on Human Capital corporate business strategy. The individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to relate at all levels in the organization- in additional to tried negotiation skills in a cross- cultural environment.
