Daily tasks include inspecting, calibrating, and troubleshooting biometric attendance systems across government offices, conducting routine maintenance on CCTV networks and fire suppression equipment, and responding to alarm system faults—often requiring travel to regional offices. You’ll coordinate with local vendors approved by the Namibian Government Procurement Act and document all maintenance activities in line with the Ministry’s ICT asset management policy. Collaboration with internal ICT support teams and adherence to the Public Service Commission’s operational guidelines is standard practice.

Punctuality, respect for hierarchical reporting structures, and alignment with public service values—such as integrity and accountability—are strongly emphasised in Namibian government roles. Teamwork is prioritised, but individual responsibility for system uptime and compliance with national data protection principles (under the Data Protection Act, 2023) is non-negotiable. Attendance at mandatory workshops hosted by the Office of the Ombudsman or the Ministry’s Human Resources Division is common and expected.
