The position’s main purpose is to guide the technical and operational activities at the various Mine Sites in line with customer contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring maintenance operations are conducted in line with Company, manufacturers and regulatory procedure and guidelines.
- Conduct safety checks to ensure that cranes comply with safety regulations, contract requirements and industry standards.
- Inspection of cranes to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues with the help of computerized testing tools, calibration appliances, etc.
- Must have strong understanding of cranes (Liebherr / Grove & Sany).
- Performing load testing and other safety checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Responding promptly to breakdown callouts for crane repairs or malfunctions and put the necessary corrective actions in place to ensure minimal downtime and quick restoration of crane functionality.
Requirements
- Namibian Citizen.
- Grade 12.
- Qualified diesel mechanic with proven competency in crane repairs (competency certificate issued by a registered training authority).
- Valid Code C driver’s license.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience crane/plant equipment repairs and basic rigging.
- Be able to read/interpret technical manuals/ wiring diagrams / electrical fault finding.
- Computer literate / Fault finding / Repairs.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Must have high attention to detail, excellent analysing, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
- Be physically fit with the ability to work at heights.
- Be able to work independently and under pressure, achieving deadlines and work long hours in line with contract requirements.
- Be able to supervise and guide those reporting to him.
- Be familiar with the application of ISO/Minesite policies, procedures, and practices.
- Have sober habits and be in possession of a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance Certificate) not older than 3 months.
