We are seeking a Unit Manager for our Operating Theatre Unit, who excels in management, leadership,
budgetary management skills and the ability to motivate staff. The incumbent needs to have well
developed organisational, interpersonal, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for:
• Overall Management of the Theatres.
• Quality Patient Care, service excellence and continuous quality improvement.
• Direct and co-ordinate planning, human resources training and development.
• Implement strategic health and administrative services provided by the hospital to ensure
sustainable performance of the business.
• Ensure operational efficiency by management of key business drivers.
• Risk and Asset Management.
• Accountable for Clinical Governance.
• Ensure adherence to Nursing policies, procedures and standards.
• Implement and monitor strategic projects.
• Effective communication with Medical Practitioners and Hospital Management on nursing
activities.
• Review patient care to ensure it meets legal, ethical, updated clinical and safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A degree / diploma in general nursing and midwifery.
• A degree/diploma in Theatre Techniques/Operating Theatre and Nursing Administration.
• Registered with the Nursing Council of Namibia is essential.
• 8 years’ experience as a Senior Registered Nurse in an Operating Theatre Unit environment.
