Job Summary:
The Social Worker is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the PHN Reach Namibia child protection as well as GBV/VAC prevention and response services. This position involves assessing clients’ needs, developing care plans, connecting them to appropriate services, and advocating for their well-being. The Social Worker works closely with community level PHN Reach Namibia staff, clients, families, and community resources to address a range of social and emotional challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
· Lead the development and implementation of the district level work plan on the OVC comprehensive and OVC preventive components of PHN Reach Namibia.
· Support relevant GBV prevention, detection, and response interventions under the DREAMS component of PHN Reach Namibia.
· Oversee the implementation of PHN’s child safeguarding policy.
· Provide HIV sensitive case management services.
· Provide nonclinical post violence care services.
· Develop safety plan.
· Provide Psychosocial Support and Mental Health (PSSMH) Services.
· Conduct structured family group conferencing.
· Provide structured psycho-social support related to family conflict mitigation/relationships.
· Collaborate with treatment partners and health facilities to conduct case conferencing.
· Coordinate services and collaborate with external agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
· Support to strengthen the referral linkage system for child protection services.
· Link survivors of violence to post-violence medical care.
· Link survivors of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect to police, legal counsel, and child protection services including shelter/care facility or kinship care placement.
· Attend regional and constituency level Child Care and Protection Forums (CCPFs).
· Oversee the implementation of positive parenting, NMN girls and boys and CBIM.
· Build the capacity of community level PHN Reach Namibia staff on child protection issues.
· Compile and share reports with the District Team Leader.
· Any other responsibility assigned by the District Team Leader.
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in child protection including case management.
· Strong understanding of positive parenting, MHPSS services and prevention of Violence Against Children and Youth.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
· A good level of written and spoken English.
· Able to speak the local language largely spoken in the district of choice.
