Job Description
Installation, maintenance and commissioning of all protection equipment in 11 kV and 66 Kv substations for the HV distribution network of the City of Windhoek. Assist Technician Telemetry, Technician Substation Automation and DC Electrician with their duties as necessary.

Key Performance Areas

Test and commissioning of protection switchgear.

Installation of protection switchgear and DC Systems.

Installation and commissioning of different protection schemes.

Maintain and repair protection equipment and DC Systems.

Perform standby duties

Perform high-voltage switching

Administrative duties.

Assisting other jobs on the same reporting level within the section.

Skills, Experience & Education

National Diploma for Technicians: Electrical (Heavy Current) or National Diploma: Power Engineering with a minimum period of five (5) years relevant job (excluding theoretical training towards qualification). Registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia as an Engineering Technician. A valid code C1E driver’s license.
