MASTER

Key Performance Areas:

Vessel Operations:

Taking command and management of the vessel and personnel
Leading by example to create the right culture
Ensure that the vessels are fully equipped at all times
Responsible for onboard training and safety
Marine and Mining Operations:
Ensure all safety and operational procedures, standards and Company requirements.
Checks and maintains Company documentation as required by the relevant authorities and systems.
Optimises the effectiveness of the vessel to maximize productivity and time utilisation by managing onboard business processes.
Safety Management:
Ensures adherence to relevant national legislation and systems including the International Safety Management Code, OHSAS 18001, Environmental Management Systems, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Monitors the application of the relevant rules and regulations pertaining to the security and safety of the vessel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Valid STCW 95 (Deck Officer Class 1) Masters Foreign Going / Mining endorsed Certificate of Competency.
Eight (8) years’ relevant experience which includes Five (5) years minimum at Chief Navigating Officer rank.
Valid GMDSS Certificate
Project management experience would be an advantage
SAP knowledge would be an advantage
