Erongo Marine Enterprise Pty Ltd (EME), a subsidiary of the Oceana Group, operates in the Namibian Horse Mackerel industry and is based in Walvis Bay. The position of Cost and Management Accountant is vacant and EME is seeking suitable candidates to apply.

This role reports to the Finance Manager, responsible for assessing business expenses, both operating and of capital nature, preparing optimized budget plans, reviewing financial records, and providing financial and accounting support by business partnering with executives and departmental heads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Production cost analysis and review of production orders in SAP
– Bill Of Material (BOM) analysis and review
– Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly vessels and offshore processing plant management cost journals and provide a variance analysis to the operations manager
– Critically evaluate inventory movements within the production environment and warehouse environment
– Month-end SAP procedures in production and inventory
– Preparation and analyses of frozen fish movements into production, balances, and purchases
– Preparation and analyses of bi-weekly wage reports
– Compilation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts per group deadlines
– Review and submission of statistical returns
– Collation and prepare operational stats and KPIs
– Prepare monthly quota split schedules
– Prepare quarterly quota levy reconciliation
– Meetings to be held with managers to discuss operating and capital expenditure variances and inventory movements
– Preparation of management pack schedules including the quarterly schedules
– Preparation of monthly management accounts
– Involvement in the annual year-end process with Group
– Preparation of year-end pack submissions
– Review and approval of purchase orders
– Attend monthly stock counts at the site
– Critically evaluate controls in the production and warehousing environment
– Month-end journals and accruals
– Liaise and assist with internal and external audits
– Management, discipline, and development of staff

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

– Namibian citizen
– Bachelor of Accounting or Commence majoring in Cost Accounting
– CIMA/CA (SA/NAM) or equivalent will be an added advantage
– At least 6 to 8 years of Finance experience
– Experience in a production environment as an added advantage
– ERP Experience – SAP or similar system
– MS Office knowledge with advanced Excel experience is required
– Experience and knowledge in the fishing industry is an added advantage
