Executive Manager: Network Operations: Otjiwarongo
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
Leading the Network Operations & Maintenance Department to achieve the relevant
strategic objectives of CENORED – in its journey of achieving its vision – by formulating
relevant and appropriate policies and translating these policies and procedures into
operational strategies which would enable the Department to establish, control and
maintain the infrastructure for the supply and distribution of electrical energy, to ensure
the provision of an efficient service to the consumers.
Key Performance Areas
Management of the Supply and Distribution of Electrical Energy
1. Compiling technical specifications for equipment and material needed for
approved projects by using the data and information for informing the tendering
process.
2. Developing and administering (monitoring) operational and maintenance work
procedures, systems, delegations and communication lines within the
Department.
3. Advising on managing External Contracts i.t.o. the bulk and overall electricity
distribution to and within CENORED’s area of jurisdiction.
4. Implementing and managing Demand Side Management.
5. Ensuring that the electrical networks are properly maintained to the applicable
standards.
6. Responsible for the commissioning and performance of all metalclad and compact
switchgear, and primary substations.
Financial Management
1. Exercising prudent financial management in terms of the Capital and Operational
Budget in order to execute projects to the best interest of the Company
Compiling, submitting and controlling the expenditure in terms of the approved
budget and financial policies and procedures.
3. Continuously monitoring expenditure and income related to the Department and
implementing corrective measures to ensure that projections and goals are
achieved.
Stakeholder Engagement
1. Continuously monitoring expenditure and income related to the Department and
implementing corrective measures to ensure that projections and goals are
achieved.
2. Advising on issues of the electrical network, operations and applicable legislation.
3. Advising the company on electrical energy and development related issues.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) or Bachelor of Technology (Electrical)
(NQF 7 Qualifications).
• Master Degree or Master of Technology in Electrical Engineering and a Master of
Business Administration Degree will be an advantage.
• Ten (10) Years engineering experience of which five (5) years should have been
in a managerial capacity.
