NEWS PRESENTER
Paterson Grade: C1
Job Purpose
Produce relevant, compelling and factually correct business, finance and economics news, new media content and feature content for Market Watch, Business 7 and daily newspaper as well as other products when required. Writes across a broad range of subjects and also assist with Namibia Media Holdings’ supplements and focus editions.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Bachelor of Economics.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient in relevant computer software packages and application.
Passion for media, knowledge of business, finance and economics.

Key Performance Areas
Produce news and feature content for Market Watch, Business 7 and other publications.
Take photographs for publication.
Produce new media content related to online videos and news postings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the Market Watch Publication.
Performs tasks assigned for Market Watch, Business 7 and other publications.
Cover a wide range of news events for news and/or feature stories to add value to publications.
Write quality news and feature articles, adhering to strict deadlines to conform to the style guide of publications.
Generate ideas for stories to maintain wide interest, including investigative reports.
Adhere to the quality, style and content standards as laid out and required by the particular publication/s so that standards can be maintained throughout.
Take photographs to illustrate editorial content.
Produce content for all online and other platforms to give readers wide access to the content of the publications.
On standby at all times (weekends, after hours and public holidays) to report on breaking news.
Able to travel extensively to give coverage of news events outside the main centre of operations (e.g. Windhoek, Swakopmund and Oshakati).
Comply with the requirements of the Namibian Press Code.
