Position Overview:
Andrada Mining (Pty) Ltd is currently in a brownfield exploration project phase doing infill drilling to update the Lithium and Tantalum Resources, within the pegmatite hosted tin deposits at Uis in the Erongo Region.
As a Project Geologist at Uis Tin Mining Company, you will play a vital role in the identification, assessment, and development of potential mineral deposits. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and analyze exploration activities, contributing to the company’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fieldwork and Data Collection: Conduct geological fieldwork, including mapping, sampling, and data collection, to assess potential exploration targets.
• Geological Analysis: Analyze geological data, core samples, and assay results to determine the presence and quality of mineral resources.
• Exploration Planning: Assist in the development of exploration plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Drilling Programs: Coordinate and supervise drilling programs to collect subsurface data and core samples for analysis.
• Resource Estimation: Participate in resource estimation and geological modeling activities, supporting the assessment of mineral deposit sizes and grades.
• Report Generation: Prepare and present detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate exploration findings and recommendations.
• Environmental and Safety Compliance: Ensure that exploration activities adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local communities, indigenous groups, and regulatory authorities to maintain positive relationships and address concerns.
• Innovation and Technology: Stay informed about advancements in geological exploration technology and tools, evaluating their potential application to enhance exploration efforts.
• Data Management: Maintain organized records of geological data, core samples, and exploration expenditures.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.
• Strong fieldwork and geological mapping skills.
• Proficiency in geological software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
