Position Overview:
As the Director of Risk Management at Andrada Mining, you v/ill be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework and strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure compliance v/ith industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all areas of the mining operations, including safety, environmental, financial, and regulatory risks.
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement a risk management strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate v/ith various departments, including operations, finance, safety, and environmental teams, to identify and address risks specific to each area
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to risk management and ensure the company’s compliance with them.
• Risk Monitoring: Establish risk monitoring systems and methodologies to continuously assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
• Insurance Management: Oversee the company’s insurance programs, ensuring appropriate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
• Crisis Response: Develop and maintain crisis management and response plans to address unforeseen risks and emergencies effectively.
• Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports to senior management and the Board of Directors on risk exposure, mitigation efforts, and the overall risk management strategy.
• Training and Awareness: Promote a culture of risk av/areness and provide training and guidance to employees on risk management best practices.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process by identifying emerging risks and opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management. Business Administration. Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, insurance, and crisis management.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards related to risk management.
