Individual Giving Officer
SOS Children’s Villages Namibia seeks to employ the services of an Individual Giving Officer to be responsible for fund-raising. The incumbent will develop, implement and manage strategies that will help to mobilise financial support from individual donors to support the work of SOS Children’s Village Namibia. S/he may also raise awareness on the organisations work, goals, and financial needs.
PRIORITY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and cultivates relationships with new individual donors, including existing and potential donors.
- Engages in personalised communication, stewardship and cultivates activities that build strong and lasting connections with donors.
- Creates and executes fundraising campaigns targeting individual donors.
- Develops a database of individual givers to track and manage donor profiles.
- Conducts research to identify potential donors and understand their interests.
- Networks and repositions SOS Children’s Villages
- Namibia brand through its brand, vision, mission and values.
- Embraces teams and coordinates efforts that ensures the development of comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Keep abreast of the latest fundraising trends, techniques and best practices related to individual giving to explore ways to attract and engage donors effectively
- Supports funding proposal writing/development in the organisation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing/Social
Sciences - A minimum of 3 years verifiable experience in the fields of direct marketing (i.e., face-to-face, and or telemarketing) fundraising or sales.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- High level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- A code B driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- Possess high competencies (communication, team work, excellent interpersonal skills).
