Job Title: Junior Researcher
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Junior Researcher for the Integrated Small Grant Aggregator Platform (ISGAP) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a secondary literature review, participating in field activities and data analysis, and assisting in various writing tasks such as newspaper articles, blogs, project reports, and journal articles. Additionally, they will provide administrative support to senior management, attend partner meetings, and assist in conference sessions, webinars, and events. The Junior Researcher will also play a role in partnership development, networking with national and international organizations, and supporting the resource mobilization team in preparing concept notes Flexibility and willingness to engage in other activities assigned by senior management are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough secondary literature review to gather relevant information and contribute to the project’s knowledge base.
- Participate in field activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Assist in writing tasks, such as creating newspaper articles, blog posts, project reports, and potentially journal articles.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and other relevant activities for senior management.
- Attend partner’s meetings as required and take detailed notes for further analysis and reference.
- ‘Support in arranging conference sessions, webinars, and events related to the project’s objectives.
- Assist in preparing concept notes and project proposals for potential funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Environmental Sciences, Development studies, Disaster Management, Forestry, Climate Change and Development, etc.)
- Previous experience in research, preferably with six months – one-year work experience or internship.
Voluntary experience will also be considered for this position.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in organizing and coordinating administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Familiarity with networking and resource mobilization is an asset.
Reporting- The Junior researcher will report directly to the project focal of ISGAP.
