VACANCY FOR A SCHOOL DIRECTOR
Golden View Private School is a new school opening its doors for the first time in January 2024 in Rundu.
Kavango East Region. The school will provide a high-quality education that is technology driven and balanced in academic excellence and learner support structures.
The school is therefore seeking the services of a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced Instructional leader to direct and oversee the school’s operations.
Key Duties:
Custodian to the school’s vision, mission, objectives and internal policies.
- Provide a strategic plan to effectively implement the school’s strategic long-term goals and objectives and ensure implementation.
Provide a monitoring, evaluation and Continuous professional development strategy for subordinate staff.
Develop a School Annual Budget - Oversee the day-to-day management of the school in line with the school Principal’s Duty Sheet and job description.
Job Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Curriculum Planning and Development or Educational Management.
- Minimum 15 years of teaching experience in secondary school & 7 years as School Principal required. Private sector experience is a plus.
- Proven record of high achievement/performance at the level of school Principal, Public or Private school in Namibia.
- Experience in Financial management, human resource management and conflict resolution is essential.
Excellent command of English, report writing and facilitating CPD workshop skills essential.
• Either be a Namibian or SADC Citizen.
Personal Characteristics:
Strategic thinking. Ability to motivate and inspire subordinates. Creative, innovative, honesty and integrity.
Excellent interpersonal relations. Team builder and leader.
Contract/Time Frame:
The School Director shall be contracted for a period of 5 years, renewable on condition of satisfactory performance.
The First year of the contract shall be on a probationary level, and confirmation of the five years shall depend on the successful completion of that probation. The Director shall be under constant and rigorous monitoring and supervision from the Board.
Assumption of Duty:
The successful candidate will assume duty from 1st September 2023 to LEAD the preparatory committee for the school opening in January 2024.
