JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: IT TECHNICIAN
DAPP Namibia – Development Aid from People to People – is registered as an Association Not for Gain. DAPP Namibia is operating community development projects including HIV/AIDS activities, in 14 regions of Namibia, a Vocational Training School, and a Private School in the Omusati region.
OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB
The overall responsibility of the IT Technician is to provide technical support and advice for employees in all DAPP Namibia offices country wide. Duty station Ongwediva,
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check and maintain computer hardware & Software in all DAPP Namibia offices country wide
- Maintain local networks
- Troubleshoot to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Maintain records / logs of repairs
- Distribute and set up new computers
- Identify computer and network equipment shortages and order when necessary
- Maintain IT equipment inventory
- Perform data backups
- Remedy IT related incidents raised, by diagnosing and executing the necessary actions to restore the service or functionality for end users.
- Security administration – maintain infrastructure and network security.
- Training – provide training to users on existing and emerging technologies.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

- Flexible and ready to travel (80% spent travelling)
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s Diploma in Computer Science, IT, IT Systems Management
- 1-2 years of experience in the following areas:
- Computer hardware installation, troubleshooting and repairs Ethernet networks installation, fault finding and repairs
