Please find below details regarding Contour Logistics (Pty) Ltd request for container transport services from Aussenkehr, Namibia to Cape Town, South Africa port
Each transport company would need to fulfil the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for our 40 ft reefer container transport requirement:
⦁ Double axel horse with cross border permit
⦁ Three axle skeletal trailer that is 12m in length.
⦁ Trailer must be able to carry a payload of 32tons.
⦁ All trailers must be fitted with twist locks (yellow) and reflective tape around the trailer.
⦁ Underslung Genset that will be able to run Starcool & Carrier container units.
⦁ Valid TPT Port Permit for all South African Ports (Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Coega & Durban)
⦁ Trucking company name along with address and contact number to be displayed on both sides of truck.
⦁ Truck must be registered on Transnet system (BAT number to be provided by TPT)
⦁ Driver must be registered on Transnet system with valid access card.
⦁ Driver inductions must be done per port before being allowed to enter the port for loading / offloading
⦁ Trucking Company must be registered on NAVIS for pre-advice.
⦁ Trucking Company must be registered on NAVIS to be able to make port
bookings.
⦁ Average grape cargo weight per container varies between 19 – 27 tons.
⦁ All vehicles need to be legal i.t.o. Namibian and South African road regulations.
⦁ All drivers need to have valid driver’s licences and passports.
⦁ All cargo needs to be in bond through SA to Cape Town port.
⦁ Transport company must have breakdown recovery capability along the route to Cape Town
⦁ GIT insurance to the value of R1.8 million needs to be in place per load to cover the cost of both the container and fruit.

The period in which transport is required is between weeks 46 of 2023 and week 4 of 2024. A total of approximately 500 truckloads need to move to Cape Town port in this period, with weekly volumes varying between 4 and 90 truckloads per week. All service offerings need to be submitted by no later than close of business on Friday the 28n of July 2023. Please submit offers to [email protected]. Please ensure that the offer includes background information on the company, number of vehicles in the fleet, rate offer per load for this period (calculated on July 2023 diesel rate for purposes of this quote), as well as anything else which could add to the favorable consideration of the offer provided.
