MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Media Officer will be responsible for the planning
and implementation of all media and communications duties relating to SRHR of the office.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
» At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of communications, branding, and
visibility or similar roles.
» Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of GBV and SRH.
» Demonstrate an ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
» Ability to organize effectively, work under pressure with attention to detail, precision, and
accuracy.
» Ability to speak English;
» Provide communication support;
» Manage data;
» Manage information and workflow;
» Be able to plan, organise and multitask.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
» Guide the development and implementation of communication and media plans for
SRH/family planning with strong RH/HIV linkages based on national frameworks.
» Provide leadership in collating and documenting responses on maternal health and
innovative RH interventions and share lessons learned and success stories for improved
programming, advocacy and resource mobilization.
» Provide communications technical leadership and support with messages to strengthen
health systems and improving the integrated approach to maternal health that combines:
Human Resources, reproductive health commodities /family planning.
» Substantially contribute to the conceptualization and development of a communication
strategy for One Economy Foundation as a whole and for the SRHR programs/projects/initiatives.
» She/he ensures visibility of One Economy Foundation’s vision and mission, showing how One programs are delivering results and contributing to the SRHR programmes in the country;
» Production and dissemination of communication and advocacy materials, including
brochures, posters, pamphlets, programme publications, fact sheets, donor information packs and press releases;
» Edit various reports/proposals/studies, press releases, and speeches to ensure quality and user-friendliness, as well as political, cultural, and gender sensitivity and social inclusion, for use as resources for advocacy and fundraising purposes;
» Undertake any other assignments as may be given by the representative.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism information or media studies
human, social or political sciences, international development or related field.
