Head: eMoney (MT5) – Banking Services
Introduction
The role is responsible for the growth and optimisation of ‘electronic money’ (“e-Money”) within Retail Banking Services, focusing on driving the value of “e-Money” and integrating it into the Retail Banking Services operating model from the perspective of sales revenue, customer experiences, optimising digital revenues and operational efficiencies. The role is responsible for driving digital business development related to electronically stored currency, payments and the delivery of related banking products, channels and services and drives the adoption and integration of all e-Money solutions across Retail Banking Services customer segments, partner ecosystems and operating units. These objectives will be achieved through effective translation of e-Money solutions and technologies into customer journeys and experiences, as well as applying available, emerging and evolving technologies into the operating environment to achieve operational alignment across the branch network.
KEY PERFORMANCE Areas (KPAs)
Strategic input
Develop an e-Money business development strategy, covering all components of e-Money for the key customer segments by considering global trends, new technologies, market opportunities, competitor positioning and regulatory requirements and developments to deliver the Bank’s strategy and business goals.
Driving the business of electronically stored currency, remittances and payments and the delivery of related banking products and services.
Constantly assess risks and opportunities in the industry resulting from changes to the environment or technology, legislation, competitors or client trends relating to e-Money solutions and enhance the strategy accordingly.
Growth and Customer Focus
Provide input to the development of appropriate Customer Value Propositions and Products for the different segments considering the e-Money solutions and strategy.
Drive the growth and adoption of e-Money and related digital solutions across the Retail Banking Services customer segments and channels by critically analysing customer behavior and trends.
Develop the appropriate data solutions related to e-Money.
Build alliances and partnerships to generate revenue streams through e-Money products and services.
Analyse and implement agency solutions.
Constantly identify, assess and recommend new or enhancements to e-Money solutions.
Design and develop go-to market strategies for e-Money offerings.
Expand and manage the e-Money distribution and merchant network.
Support the Sales teams to deliver the growth targets relating to e-Money across Retail Banking Services.
Oversee that the Retail Banking Services organisation is adequately trained, skilled, and developed to deliver the e-Money strategy.
Provide support for e-Money solution customer issue resolution where standard support from line and support functions cannot resolve the exceptionally complex matters.
Build the Bank’s brand in terms of eminence in e-Money and related digital solutions.
Operational Delivery and Internal Processes
Working with key internal support and control stakeholders to ideate, build and manage smooth processes related to e-Money solutions.
Control and periodically check operational risks and workflow relating to e-Money in conjunction with the Operations Department.
Drive the system towards service quality standards in an efficient operation where risks are well controlled (through product process re-engineering).
Manage fraud and regulatory risk associated with e-Money.
Evaluate operational processes for e-Money solutions and improve opportunities to promote a customer focused culture.
Ensure that SLAs agreed with service providers are monitored and managed to ensure delivery in accordance with the Bank’s requirements.
Liaise and support the technical team to manage the platform performance, upgrades, and other modifications.
Stakeholder Management
Effectively engage, consult and make proposals to Regulators with regards to e-Money products and services.
Effective internal stakeholder management, including Operations, Information Technology, Retail Banking Services, Segment Heads, Customer, Data and Digital to ensure that the e-Money strategy is delivered and that solutions are developed, implemented and enhanced to deliver on customer experience and drive growth.
Effectively engage and manage partners and vendors of e-Money solutions to ensure e-Money products and services are effectively delivered and managed
Financial Management and Reporting
Responsible for monthly and hoc reporting and management of the overall performance of e-Money offerings, including trends, growth/sales, adoption, financial and technical performance.
Managing the budget for the all relevant activities, trends, revenues, and costs in the e-Money structure.
Own the e-Money income statement.
People Management
Provide input to the monitoring of the overall performance of the extended matrix-based team and guide on the appropriate interventions to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of e-Money solutions and customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in commerce (Masters’ of Business Administration or Master’s in Technology field
Experience
5 years or more work experience in e-Money and/or digital banking product management and/or consumer-facing mobile products in Banks or Financial institutions.
Exposure to digital business environments which include e-commerce, B2B, and B2C marketplaces is an advantage
Strong understanding/focus on digital technologies and platform ecosystems and how this impacts Retail Banking.
Financial industry experience preferred
A proven knowledge of all aspects of the technology stack in a Bank
Experience in monetizing digital solutions
