FINANCIAL SERVICES CONTROLLER – FINANCE DEPARTMENT
The purpose of the position is to keep records of the accounts of the Company’s customers and to recover
debts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:
• Credit Applications & Risk Assessment
• Responsible for all aspects of opening new accounts or increase of existing credit limits
• Interview new clients, and obtain all necessary documentation
• Perform credit reference checks, assess credit risk, and make recommendations to management
• Drafting of all Sureties, and Cession agreements
• Keep the applicant, management, and sales team informed of the status and available credit
• Maintain and control debtors’ accounts and credit limit overrides in accordance with company policy and delegation authority
• Execute debtor’s insurance according to policy
• Process refunds on the bank for authorization
• Monitor customers’ spending trends, payment history, and risks to recommend changes
• Reconcile debtors aging to control accounts monthly
• Monitor and report irregularities to the financial manager/Credit Risk Manager
• Prepare monthly statements and communicate with customers
• Follow up on non-payments and overdue invoices, and assist customers in reconciling differences between our account and customers’ remittance advice
• Preparing and sending files to the legal department for handover
• ITC Listings
• Drafting and sending letters of demand and ITC Letters
• Assist during Financial year-end audit
The suitable applicant will have:
• A 3-year tertiary education in accounting/finance and business administration
• At least 3 years of applied experience
• Knowledge and experience of the Agri SMART system will be an advantage
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven computer skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Afrikaans
• Attention to detail, a reliable, accurate, and dependable person
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Namibia Citizenship
