Job Description:
Reporting to the Divisional Production Manager and guarantees daily raw mill/clinker and cement production according to given production plan and as coordinated with production management. This position is based at Sargberg Plant, between Tsumeb and Otavi.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for the planning process of machines and workers
· Carry out production instructions given by the Production Manager, is in charge of raw mix preparation, grinding, clinker and cement production, cement storage after milling in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures and environment regulations.
· Adapt the production planning when necessary.
· Coordinate all interventions in case of breakdown.
· Take over the direct responsibility for the control of kiln and mills in case of complicated situations.
· Ensure proper use of the equipment in particular to avoid damage.
· Adapt the tasks of the maintenance crew on shift to the shift situation.
· Development of subordinates to improve productivity and knowledge.
· Protocols and analyzes breakdowns.
· Accurate reporting of daily production related data.
· Monitor the implementation of Safety procedures.
· Carry out the monthly controls of the equipment in terms of health, work and fire protection according to the safety plan.
· Support the Safety work of the SHE department through daily activities and conducting/joining safety inspections on site.
Requirements
· Grade 12 with Relevant Engineering Degree
· Special knowledge in process flow of the cement industry.
· At least five (5) years’ work experience in heavy or mining and steel producing industries preferred.
· Ability to organize own workload; take initiative and good judgement.
· High level of stress tolerance, discipline and decisiveness and ability to achieve deadlines.
· Very good knowledge of cement production process and equipment technology.
· Good knowledge of IT-Systems and in Microsoft Office.
· Knowledge of the structure of the supervision software in the automation technology (POLCID, WinCC).
· Ability to take decisions, prioritize actions and multitask effectively.
· Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
· Must be able to work independently, but also in team situations.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to point out technical processes and facts.
· Ability to lead and motivate staff.
