PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Regular maintenance and repair of all water reticulation networks, pre-paid water meter systems and all
related systems. Responsible for maintaining, repair
and construction of council’s water and sewerage
reticulation and distribution system.
REMUNERATION
• Salary Scale: N$107,136 – N$111,216.00 per annum
• Housing Allowance: Basic Salary
• Transport Allowance: N$7 704.00 per annum
• Medical Aid: 85% Council Contribution
• Pension: 21,7% Council Contribution
• Annual Bonus: 13th Cheque
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Ensure that the construction of new water networks
are done properly and according to predetermined
plans.
• Ensure that burst water and sewerage pipes, leaking
taps, condemned water meters are repaired and
replaced on a daily basis.
• Ensure that all main reservoirs are kept in good
conditions at all times to ensure the good provision
of water at all times.
• Keep records and report functions such as maintaining a log of water treatment operations, alba fos
level, maintenance work performed and unusual
operating conditions.
• Conducts periodic inspections on the water network
including the main reservoirs, pumps and electrical
motors, and prepares reports as required.
• Ensure that water connections are done on a daily
basis.
• Order operating supplies and chemicals as needed and assist in the safe unloading and storage of
chemicals.
• Ensure proper maintenance of the reticulation system in a good working condition at all times
• Responsible in tracing illegal water connections and
disconnect them in collaboration with the Meter Reader.
• Responsible for collecting new job card for execution
and hand in completed job cards.
• Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all water
towers and sewer pump stations belonging to the
Town Council on intervals or as required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12
• N3 Trade Certificate in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting or
related filed
• At least 3 years relevant working experience in
plumbing, pipe fitting and construction work
• Knowledge of Local Authorities Act will be an added
advantage
• Code B drivers’ license

life’s risk
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills and time management
