Agri Advisory Services Division provides mentorship & training services to transfer
knowledge and skills to farmers with the aim of improving farming practices and productivity
and repayment ability.
Interested candidates with relevant qualifications and experience are hereby invited to apply for the
following mentorship consultancy services in different regions.
DEPARTMENT: MARKETING & CUSTOMER STRATEGY
Division: Agri Advisory Services (AASD)
Regional Mentor positions:
1 x Hardap Region (must be a full-time and active farmer in any of the following areas: Mariental,
Maltahöhe, or Gibeon)
1 x Kavango West Region (must be a full-time and active farmer in any of the following areas: Nkurenkuru
and central areas of the region)
Purpose of provision of Mentorship Services
• The mentor will be responsible for the provision of advisory services through mentorship, coaching, and
training of farmers.
• The mentor will provide on-farm guidance and mentoring/coaching through hands-on technical and
practical advice incorporating the use of appropriate latest technologies.
• The mentor will conduct training courses, day/evening lectures, practical sessions, host farmers’
information days, excursions, and stakeholders’ meetings.
• The mentor must possess good interpersonal and motivational skills to be able to build respectful and
trusting relationships needed to motivate and encourage farmers to implement the acquired knowledge
and skill.
• The mentor will serve as an interface between the bank, farmers, and service providers in the
agricultural sector.
Minimum Requirements
• A National Diploma in Agriculture.
• An established and experienced full-time farmer (with at least 10 years of practical farming experience).
Experience in livestock, crops & poultry will be an advantage.
• Applicant must not be older than 60 years of age.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in the local language(s) applicable to the region of
application.
• Good report writing skills, computer literate, and experience in organizing, presenting, and facilitating
training events.
• Must be a team player and have experience working with farmers, and other industry stakeholders.
• Own transport registered in his/her name or spouse’s name, preferably a 4×4 vehicle.
• Farm/ permanent residence should be in the same constituency region/ area applied for.
• Must be able and willing to camp and work on weekends.
• Willing to participate in Training of Trainer (ToT) courses.
