COSDEF (Namibia Community Skills Development Foundation) is a registered Trust co-ordinating the activities of the network of Community Skills Development Centres (COSDECs), and the Arts and Craft Centre, providing competence based skills training to out-of school youths and disadvantaged communities throughout Namibia, to enable them to participate in gainful economic activities.
The Support Unit (SU) provides the policy framework and maintains quality standards, through the provision of administrative and financial support and professional advice and guidance to the COSDECs and the Arts and Crafts Centre.
THE FOUNDATION IS SEEKING A QUALIFIED PERSON TO FILL THE FOLLOWING VACANCY:
CENTRE MANAGER – COSDEC ONDANGWA (ONDANGWA)
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Must be in Possession of a Grade 12 Certificate or Equivalent
- Must be In Possession of a National Diploma at NOF Level 6 in Vocational Education Training and Development, Management, Business Administration or Education,
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification at NOF Level 7 In relevant disciplines is an added advantage
- 5 years managerlal/supervisory experience, preferably In a training and business environment
- Experience In training, skills and community development programming for underprivileged communities
- Proven working experience with NGOs Involved in community development In resource constrained settings in Namibia
- Proven budgeting and financial management experience relevant to the NGO and training environment
- Excellent planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation as well as proposal writing/project management skills (ESSENTIAL)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and stakeholder engagement and management skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Strategic planning, management, monitoring of all administrative and management activities at the center
- Maintaining sound financial management systems that support overall activities at the Centre
- Oversee compliance of all administrative, training and community development activities with organisational and center strategic plans, annual plans and Financial management functions at the Centre
- Oversee staff recruitment, management, performance management, disciplinary procedures at the Centre
- Maintain accountability over foundation assetsand facilities at the Centre
- Ensure centre’s compliance with all COSDEF and national training quality assurance, health and safety regulations. Labour law and Financial/Accounting policies
- Oversee all community and stakeholder engagement activities, as well as community and skills needs assessment processes
- Oversee annual quarterly planning and reporting processes at the center
CONTRACT PERIOD:
5 YEARS (Renewable based on Performance)
APPLICANTS MUST:
- Be Namibian Citizens (COMPULSORY)
- Be fully computer literate in the Microsoft Office suite (THIS WILL BE TESTED)
- Have an Unendorsed Driver’s License (COMPULSORY)
- Be willing to travel in country
- Be fluent in English.
- Knowledge of local languages spoken within the catchment area of the Centre wilt be an additional advantage.
