Danger allowance N$30,780 per annum
Appointment requirements: An appropriate National Diploma or equivalent qualification on NQF level 6 in one of the following subjects: Marine Biology, Zoology and Oceanography plus 3 years appropriate experience.
Additional requirements: Valid 1 star CMAS SCUBA diving certificate or equivalent. Valid BE driver’s license. Computer literate: MS word & excel, Basic mechanical and electronic background, private transport to respond to after-hours situations, a valid skipper’s license (<25 tons).
Job Description:
- Daily maintenance and monitoring of life-support system.
- Ensure public visitor’s arears remain presentable and informative.
- Maintain internal and external infrastructure of the facility.
- Regular cleaning of the main. Lobster and Round tank viewing panels through diving.
- Regular maintenance of the raw water extraction pumps.
- Regular collection of samples for the live exhibits.
- Filling of diving cylinders as required.
- Conducting educational tours for school and students groups as requested.
- Rotational weekend duty twice a month.
- Rotational 24/7 standby duty every second week.
- Maintain visitor’s database.
- Budgeting and procurement of requirement, tools and materials.
